Purchasing gift certificates

Gift certificates are purchased just like any other item in our store. You can pay for them using the store's standard payment method(s). Once purchased, the value of the gift certificate will be added to a special gift certificate account. If you have funds in this account, the balance will show up in the "shopping cart" information box on the left corner of all online store web pages. The purpose of this account is to let you send gift certificates in any amount (up to your current balance) and to save your balance if you want to login at another time to send certificates.

To add funds to your account, simply purchase one or more gift certificate credits available in our Gift Certificates category. You do not have to send a gift certificate in these amounts, these products simply add credits to your account in simple denominations.

Sending gift certificates

To send one or more gift certificates that you have purchased, please click on Send gift certificates in the shopping cart box. When you send a gift certificate, you will need to specify the following:

• The type of certificate to be sent (please see below).
• The name of the sender displayed on the gift certificate.
• The name of the recipient displayed on the gift certificate.
• The e-mail address of the recipient (only required for e-mail certificates).
• The amount you wish to send.
• A short message which will appear in the e-mail or on the printed certificate.

You don't have to use the full amount that is in your Gift Certificate account — any existing balance can be sent to other people. Also, please ensure that you have entered all of the information correctly (including a valid e-mail address if you selected the e-mail certificate!) before clicking "Send".

Types of certificates

We offer printable gift certificates as well as e-mail gift certificates.

To e-mail a gift certificate to someone, simply select "E-mail" and enter a valid e-mail address. No printer is required.

To make a printable gift certificate, follow the process above, and select "Print" as your type of gift certificate. You must have a printer attached to your computer to print the certificate. We also recommend that you use card-stock paper (thick paper available at a copy shop) and color ink to print the certificates.

Making purchases using a gift certificate

If you have funds in your gift certificate account, you can use those funds to purchase other items in our store. During the Checkout process, a check-box will appear on the Payment Information page asking whether you would like to use the funds in the gift certificate account. On the order confirmation page, please ensure that the amount in your gift certificate account is included as a payment (negative dollar amount) above the Grand Total. You will still have to select another payment method if there is not enough in your gift certificate account to cover the cost of your purchase.

Redeeming a gift certificate online

Both print and e-mail certificates will contain details of who sent it to you, along with a short message from them if they included one. The e-mail or print certificate will also contain a unique code. Please save this code for future reference!

To redeem an e-mailed gift certificate, choose either option:

• Click on the link contained within the e-mail. This will take you to our "Redeem gift certificate" page. You will then be requested to open an account at the store, or to login if you already have an account.
• During the checkout process, on the Payment Information page, there will be a box where you can enter a Redeem Code. Enter your code here, and click the Redeem button. The code will be validated and you will be able to use this towards the cost of your purchases at our store.

To redeem a printed gift certificate:

• During the checkout process, on the Payment Information page, there will be a box where you may enter a Redeem Code. Enter your code here, and click the Redeem button. The code will be validated and you will be able to use this towards the cost of your purchases at our store.

Redeeming a gift certificate at our retail store

Simply bring in your gift certificate or a copy of the e-mail to our retail store and we will credit the amount to your purchase.
